How to face your fears & get in front of your audience

Dealing with stage fright reminds me of gardening.

Digging out weeds, moving rocks and trimming shrubs is tough, sweaty work. And facing our fears? Also hard work.

When we're determined to tackle our fears, we need to be real about the impact of stage fright in our lives. Because stage fright makes our lives a struggle. We struggle to connect with clients, make sales, pitch our products.

Even on our best days, stage fright can choke our confidence, hammer our self-esteem and ruin our best efforts to succeed.

Get through your fears

To make progress with public speaking, we have to muscle in and do the work. One step at a time, we face our fears.

But what happens when we get stuck? This is when our resistance kicks in, and we need to kick through our limits and re-define "fine".

Are we really doing "fine"? Are we satisfied with our income, our career, our business, or work?

Most importantly, are we willing to settle?

Don’t settle for second best

Maybe "just okay" works for a while. But inevitably, there will be a moment when you realize you would LOVE to get a little MORE.

MORE clients. More challenges. More adventure.

And it's this desire for more that pushes all of us to hit new heights.

We want to help more people. We want to make a big impact. We want to create a great life and make big dreams come true.

So, it’s our job to do our work…and keep on pulling weeds in the garden.
