2 tricks to help you get unstuck

I struggled for years with stage fright.

And I was convinced I had to be BIGGER to make an impact and create the life I wanted. But being bigger (or louder, or taking up more room) wasn't the solution. I needed an approach that worked with me...not against me.

Instead of trying to be someone else, I needed to embrace the quirky bits of me that made me...ME.

Want to get unstuck? Here are my two favourite tricks to help.

Trick #1: Find your edge

Just like a sailboat, we need to lean a little in order to gain speed. This is exactly what happens when we lean into our unique personalities.

When we fully open up to what makes us special, we MOVE.

We speed up. Catch the wind and zoom across the waves.

And it's all because we’re embracing the qualities that are deeply woven into the fabric of who we are. Instead of fighting ourselves, we CELEBRATE who we are.

We talk about what we love, what drives us wild, what makes us crazy.

And we YELL FROM THE ROOFTOPS because we love what we do and what we have to give so freaking much.

And this is exactly the kind of passion that is undeniably irresistible for audiences. that will make audiences fall in love with our message.

Trick #2: Be Imperfect...and okay with it

The second trick to help us get unstuck means admitting we’re not perfect.

When you do this work, of showing up on stage in front of an audience, you're going to feel a teensy bit vulnerable. You might struggle with your self-esteem. And you'll have to learn how to manage your nerves, and boost your confidence.

But when you acknowledge your own strengths and gifts, you learn how to show up for the people who love what you do…and who need your help.
