We get fussy, scared and grumpy. Our brain is desperately trying to cycle through our presentation or interview points while our heart is hammering and sweat gathers under our armpits. And suddenly, our “inner diva” starts to have a tantrum. “Where’s my water?” “I need a microphone!” “Why is everything running so late?”

Always be an easy guest. 

And by easy, I mean respectful. Relaxed. Flexible. And helpful. 

And this is (surprisingly) what SO many people miss.

And sure, this seems obvious. 

But we're often so wrapped up in being nervous we forget how to be human. 

I used to work as a journalist and special events producer, so I'm always aware of the hard-working crew behind-the-scenes.

And I know exactly how stressful it is to deal with late arrivals or demanding guests. 

Friendly doesn’t cost a thing

Being friendly not only helps the team, but ALSO makes your experience 1,000,000 times better.

Honestly, this is also not only the best way to ensure you’ll be invited back, but it’s also exactly what you should do to make yourself feel better.

Smiling and being helpful immediately tells our brain to chill. 

Our bodies relax a little

You are instinctively telling yourself, “this isn’t such a big deal, you’ve got this.”

So, every time I book an interview or a speaking event, I’m always there to help the producers, organizers and staff have a good time.

I'm cheerful, adaptable, and I arrive on time. 

And, instead of focusing on "oh my GOD I'M SO SCARED"...I'm paying attention and doing the best job I can for the event.

So, don't waste your time backstage stewing in your own terrors.
